Road Trip Thru Literary New England
Educational road trips are amazing. All that family time, they’re a heck of a lot more fun than summer school or most English teachers, and you get to stop at the world’s biggest ball of thread (or something like that) if your parents are cool enough. Bob Riel at The Examiner put together a killer road trip based on famous American writers that might get even reluctant readers to pick up a book.
Ten authors are featured, from Mark Twain to Emily Dickenson to Thoreau and Salem’s House of Seven Gable. He recommends four days for the trip, but you can pick and choose from the authors, depending on the interests of your family. I’d love to tour the Robert Frost Farm!
