Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

I just read a post intended for Colorado travel only (read it here) that talks about mistakes families make when taking road trips in Colorado. And, it’s fabulous advice. Not only is it way too easy to look at a map and not understand at all how long it really takes to get from point A to point B (traffic, winding roads, etc.) but it’s tempting to try to pack too much in. Kids just want to have fun, they don’t care if they saw 10 National Parks or 1.  They want the water slides, the camping, the running around.  I’ve heeded some of the advice in the article and pared down our summer trip to Yellowstone a bit.  Probably not enough.
