Miss Katie’s Diner

Miss Katie's Diner

About Miss Katie’s Diner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, another food writer proclaimed, “Expect to find everything but the Fonz in this nostalgic greasy spoon.” I beg to differ. We found the Fonz, Marilyn, Elvis, and James Dean (to name a few). Where else in Milwaukee can you step through a door and immediately find yourself smack-dab in the 1950s? And melodies of Johnny Cash and Fatz Domino streaming from a real old-fashioned juke box?

Miss Katie’s has bar seating, shuffle board, and a pull-handle cigarette dispenser. They serve greasy (and not so greasy) food on no-frills flat wear. People don’t come to Miss Katie’s for the fine china—they want eggs, black coffee, and a couple square feet of counter to read the newspaper. We didn’t have kid’s menus at Miss Katie’s, but do you really need a special sheet to order a jumbo cinnamon role?

Off street parking is easy at Miss Katie’s Diner. In a less dense area of downtown Milwaukee, you can enjoy views of the skyline from a slight distance.
